The Salvation Army operates food pantries which use the “Client Choice” food pantry model. This model allows clients to choose the food items their families most need and enjoy, rather than receiving a prepared box of food. Volunteers are needed to help out in the pantries for various shifts on weekdays. These volunteers will help operate the pantry, stock shelves, and assist clients.

Volunteers are the front-line folks at Bread of Life. Volunteers who are friendly, patient, helpful, and efficient are needed to interact with clients and escort them through the pantry. Runners will monitor clients selections and inform them about various food options, based on pantry rules. These volunteers are also expected to help clients hold their food bags while they are picking out groceries.

Our friends ECRN+ know that every child and parent deserve to spend quality time with one another. That’s why they have teamed up with Columbus and Franklin County Metro Parks to invite parents to treat the amazing children in their life to an enchanted evening filled with games, dinner, crafts, s’mores over a campfire, entertainment, and visits with magical characters at Highbanks Nature Center. Children of all ages and abilities are welcome, with and without special needs, alongside their caregiver.
