Dr. Tim Zittle is a Founding Member and Chiropractor at Flourish Chiropractic. He has successfully found his passion and his niche through helping others and giving back. Like many startup stories, Tim found something he was passionate about and ran with it. Tapping his experiences from living in four different U.S. states, he discovered his true calling in the field of health care and healing. Tim’s sole purpose is to empower others and help them find their “soul purpose.” Last year he moved to Columbus to pursue his dreams in this city full of opportunity. Dr. Tim was recently selected by the Columbus Young Professionals Club as Networker of the Month.

Are you originally from Columbus?
I was born and raised in God’s country – Baltimore, Maryland. My family moved to Virginia Beach, Virginia when I was starting high school and I stayed there through the completion of my undergraduate degree. I then moved to Atlanta, Georgia for my doctorate program and then after graduating moved to Auburn, Alabama where I practiced for a few years. It was during that time that I began working with my best friends and current business partners (a husband/wife duo) originally from close to the Columbus area. When they informed me that they were moving back to Columbus to open a practice and wanted me to join, I was excited for the adventure. I moved here January of 2017 and have never looked back.

Give us a snapshot of your career path:
At the ripe old age of twelve I was exposed to a movie called “Patch Adams” (starring Robin Williams), and from it my passion of all things healthcare related was inspired. I began that journey in the physical therapy realm while serving as a physical therapist’s assistant (PTA) for several years while going through my undergraduate program. Just as I was transitioning into my doctorate (DPT) program, I was introduced to the world of chiropractic from a practitioner standpoint and fell head over heels for it. I showed up wide-eyed and open minded to the first day of my doctorate (DC) program and have loved it a little more each day ever since.

Tell us about what you do at Flourish Chiropractic:
If I’m being honest, I feel like calling my current situation “work” would be unfair in the extreme. I specialize in health education in the community and practice with a focus on pediatrics and maternal care – which allows me to effectively care for entire families. I get to come into the office every day and enable people to be the best expression of themselves through health. I cry with them when they’re sad or super excited, connect with them over their daily adventures, and laugh so much along the way as we see the quality of their life transform through the rediscovery of their greatest asset; their health. Sure, there’s the occasional – okay, it’s a lot of – paperwork, long days and late nights, but I wouldn’t give this up or have it any other way.

If you weren’t doing what you do now, where would you be?
I would be working in the field of professional/business development. My sole purpose is in empowering others to live their “soul purpose.” So I consistently pursue ways to make that happen however I can. I am the CEO of a risk management firm that works with businesses to improve efficiency, identify barriers to success, and encourage healthy teams, all things I love dearly. I would most likely be doing more of that if not employed here at the FC.

What is a career goal of yours?
To be the president of a college.

Tell us about something you’re passionate about:
I’m passionate about all things community outreach related! We are currently in the middle of our Corporate Wellness Program here at the FC which means I get to bring free lunches to local businesses and connect with them while encouraging healthy habits and self care, something that is a total blast to be a part of.

Favorite Columbus Young Professionals event or activity?
This one is a no-brainer for me, but it’s also a two way tie. Every single month I circle two Thursdays: second Thursdays at Franklin University (Leadership Lesson) and third Thursdays for Coffee Talk Networking. I love those events and have learned so much from those speakers!

Another CYP Club member you should get to know is…
Molly Seguin. I’ve worked with her more and more through CYP activities and whether you’re looking for great business savvy or a fun friend, she’s an excellent connection! A tireless worker, her passion for her work is contagious and it’s impossible to feel anything but joyful and happy when around her.

Favorite Place in Columbus:
The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium. Or my apartment. I’m a total homebody!

What other organizations are you involved with around the community?
I’m an Ambassador for the Dublin Chamber of Commerce, a member of H2O Church downtown on Neil Ave., and my favorite organization that I’ve been a part of for years is the Miracle League.

If someone were to ask you what the “pulse” of Columbus is, what would you tell them?
Supporting local. I’ve never been somewhere that places a higher importance on local pride and creating community through any means necessary.

I can help fellow young professionals by… empowering and educating them to take control of their health. For many of us at a young age, it’s not a concern. But the goal is always to maintain health while it takes costs far less money/time than it is to fix someone after years of stress when they’re broken. I’m also pretty solid at helping people take dreams and creating a strategy upon which they can execute it.

Young professionals can help me by… saying “hi!” I love connecting with other people and building relationships. And please come to me with your problems – not even kidding – regardless of the situation. By nature, I get so much energy and fulfillment off of problem solving, especially if it helps remove barriers to success!

When I’m not working I am… playing sports at the rec center, watching movies at the theatre, traveling around the country, or being a totally boring homebody.

If I won the lottery, I would… create an investment firm that funds people with incredible ideas that have never had the means to put them into action and create their dream.

If I could have a superpower, I would choose… Teleportation.
