Sarah JanTausch, 25, is one of those people that has a heart for everything she does, both in work, and outside of it. You can tell in a few brief exchanges that everything she touches, she has a true passion for finding the outcome and actually helping another human being.
“It’s the best part of my day,” said the Columbus native and Delaware resident, who serves as the Director of Outreach for the Lt. Governor. “I have the distinct pleasure of promoting a variety of initiatives including the “Common Sense Initiative,” which works to streamline regulations and ‘red tape’ for Ohio’s businesses.”
JanTausch, who graduated from Ohio Wesleyan and earned a bachelor of arts degree in politics and government, leads a statewide regional staff network to coordinate and implement an 88 county/statewide public outreach program while collaborating closely with local, state, regional, and national organizations to advocate for policy priorities and initiatives, she said.
“I like the outreach public relations component because it’s different every single day,” she said, adding she often gets calls from constituents. “Constituents can call our office to help them find a resolution. The common sense piece is where we make a real difference.”
When she’s not in the office, JanTausch is a dedicated volunteer, particularly in her position on the Board of Directors and Capital Campaign Committee of Turning Point, not to be confused with Turning Point USA, she said.
“Turning Point is a regional domestic violence shelter and resource hub serving six counties,” she said. “We are currently in the middle of a capital campaign to complete our new Delaware County shelter, which will expand our organization to two locations.”
JanTausch, whose favorite place to eat is Northstar Café (the veggie burger!) is also pursuing a master’s degree in management and leadership in the Western Governor’s University Business College.
“When I have free time, you can find me fixing up and painting the 1913 house that my husband and I purchased this year,” she said. “Or planning our next weekend getaway.”
