For over 100 years, Columbus Humane has provided shelter, care, and advocacy for the welfare of Central Ohio animals in need. Help further their mission this Thursday as they host their 16th annual Celebrity Chef foodie fundraiser at St. Charles Prep School. At this event, an estimated 400 guests will get to stroll & sample bites from a variety of local restaurants, meet adoptable animals, and mingle with local celebrities, with all event proceeds benefitting homeless & abused animals in the community.

Learn how to start your own garden with expert Deb Knapke as she hosts an cocktail gardening class over drinks & bites at Mozart’s in the Short North on Thursday evening. Guests will receive a growing guide, plants & seeds, and cocktail recipes, with ticket purchases benefiting educational programs & gardens at OSU’s Chadwick Arboretum.

Alvis is a nonprofit that specializes in social services such as behavioral health & substance abuse treatment, family support, recovery housing, and assistance to those with developmental disabilities. This Friday, the organization will be hosting its annual fundraiser, Evening of Light, an event which will feature inspirational stories from guest speakers, live music & entertainment, complimentary wine & beer, and gourmet food. Purchase tickets to attend, or volunteer to set-up/tear-down the event with Columbus Gives Back.

The Tri-Village Rotary Club will debut a new beer-lovers’ bash on Saturday with their UA Brew Fest. This party will highlight the best in Columbus beverages, with 8 local breweries to pour up samples to thirsty guests alongside food trucks. Proceeds from the festival will benefit the Rotary’s efforts to promote goodwill in the community & beyond though volunteerism and humanitarian service projects.

Truly one of its kind in Columbus, the Eat, Purr, Love Cat Café partners with the Capital Area Humane Society to provide a space where guests can sip coffees while meeting & interacting with adoptable cats. The kitty-persons’ paradise welcomes locals to join them for group yoga class amongst the felines on Sunday afternoon, with 100% of ticket sales going to spay/neuter efforts of SNAP (Spay, Neuter Assistance Program of Ceontral Ohio).
