The party will feature an exclusive, educational Irish whiskey & craft beer tasting hosted by Pelotonia rider, Storyforge co-founder, & Irishman, Barry Chandler. 100% of proceeds will go to Pelotonia’s cycling tour & efforts to raise funds for cancer research.

Meet live animals over drinks at Land-Grant Brewing to benefit the Ohio Wildlife Center

The Ohio Wildlife Center will be taking over Land-Grant Brewing Tuesday evening for a night of beer, food, & fundraising with the community. The event will feature several Animal Ambassadors from the organization with live creatures for guests to see up-close, with a portion of sales benefiting the Wildlife Center’s cause to support injured and orphaned wild animals in the area.

Make blankets for foster kids through My Very Own Blanket with Columbus Gives Back

Local social volunteerism group Columbus Gives Back will be hosting a meetup at Zaftig Brewing Co. evening for some crafting with a cause on Tuesday night. Volunteers to this event will enjoy craft beers while assembling no-sew fleece blankets that will be given to children in foster care through My Very Own Blanket. Zaftig will also be hosting brewery tours for attendees, and will donate a portion of beer profits to the cause.

Volunteer at the Yay Bikes! valet at the OSU Spring Game

Cycling advocacy group, Yay Bikes! understands just how difficult (and expensive) it’ll be to park at this weekend’s OSU’s spring football game. As a way to encourage festgoers to ditch their vehicles, the organization will be offering bike parking & valet services at the event and is inviting volunteers to assist them with tasks including checking & returning bikes, setting up, and tearing down.

Participate or volunteer at the 2018 AIDS Walk Central Ohio

Since its debut in 1984, Equitas Health’s Robert J. Fass AIDS Walk Central Ohio has become the largest annual HIV/AIDS charity event in the state, bringing thousands together to raise awareness & funds for the cause every year. The event will return to the city this weekend, with a 5K walk, 5K run, and 1-mile stroll kicking off in the Arena District & following the Scioto Trail through downtown. People of all ages & backgrounds are welcome to participate as a walker or by volunteering.

Human trafficking awareness organization She Has a Name will be hosting a night of community prayer & celebration of survivors on Saturday evening at the Veritas Church in the Short North. The event will feature a worship service led by local faith leaders, live song & performance, an art gallery, and refreshments from local businesses, with the goal of raising awareness & funds for She Has a Name’s mission. Although the event will feature Christian practices, She Has a Name insists that folks from all backgrounds & religions are welcome to join in the celebration.

Race or volunteer at the 2018 Columbus Head for the Cure 5K

The Head for the Cure Foundation has been hosting their 5K races in cities around the country since 2003, using them as a tool to raise awareness & funding for a variety of brain cancer research organizations. Columbus will host one of these events on Sunday morning, inviting participants and volunteers to join the experience, which will benefit OSU’s The James Cancer Center.
