South Side Roots- Community Meal Server

This meal is a family style dinner that is free to anyone in the community. Every Tuesday, people come together to enjoy something different from the South Side Roots kitchen or enjoy meals provided by a local caterer. You might be doing a little bit of everything during your shift as a meal server including serving guests their dinner and beverage, engaging in light conversation with guests, sweeping floors and cleaning off tables, or helping to wash dishes. Most importantly, you will be making sure that everyone who comes to the Community Meal feels welcomed.

Smoky Row Food Pantry Volunteer

Help serve those in need by providing volunteer support at the Smoky Row Food Pantry. This pantry provides food to over 100 families every weekend and will serve anyone– there are no income or residency requirements to receive assistance from the pantry. The pantry operates every Wednesday and Saturday.

Princess Night volunteers share a message of God’s love, hope, and restoration with misused and hard-to-reach women. Volunteers meet to go to areas of street prostitution and sex-trafficking to pray and hand out roses and handwritten cards of encouragement and Scripture in hopes of building relationship and help women be rescued.

Habitat for Humanity ReStore North

This is an indoor opportunity, where your valuable time will be used to help sort, organize, and display building materials, furniture, and household fixtures donated to ReStore. These items are then sold to the public – proceeds from the sales help offset administrative expenses for Habitat for Humanity.

Serve Lunch at The YMCA Family Center

YMCA Family Center

The YWCA Family Center provides emergency shelter and critical services to stabilize homeless families in central Ohio. Families staying at the center receive healthy meals, warm beds, basic need items, and transportation assistance during their stay. Volunteers are needed to set up and serve lunch for the families staying at the Family Center.
