Taylor Wittmer is Building Relationships to Expand his Company’s Reach
Stepping into his first professional occupation after graduating from Ohio University, Taylor Wittmer moved to Columbus to purse a professional career in a young and booming city. In 2016, he worked as an International Consultant for Adidas at their global headquarters in Herzogenaurach, Germany where he advised leadership on new marketing plans and worked with cross-cultural teams balancing responsibilities. Prior to that experience, he interned at Goodwill Industries of Erie, Huron, Ottawa and Sandusky Counties where he helped remodel one of their Goodwill retail stores for grand reopening in Sandusky, OH. Taylor was recently selected by the Columbus Young Professionals Club as Networker of the Month.

Tell us about what you do for work:
I work for Capital.Energy, an exciting company recently ranked number 7 on the “Fast 50” list for fastest growing companies in Central Ohio. I am responsible for reaching out to businesses in efforts to provide them with savings on their electric generation by reducing the rate they pay per kWh. I am also responsible for building relationships to grow my network and expand company reach.
If you weren’t doing what you do now, where would you be?
I’m happy where I ended up but if I was a little taller I might be in the NFL.
What is a career goal of yours?
I studied entrepreneurship in college so I’d like to own my own business someday.
Tell us about something you’re passionate about.
I’d like to rescue a dog… when I move into a new house that allows pets.

What is one thing that you think Columbus needs (or wish Columbus had)?
Another professional sports team – especially if the Crew leaves.
If someone were to ask you what the “pulse” of Columbus is, what would you tell them?
The young working professionals and the energy they bring to the city day and night.
I can help fellow young professionals by… reducing costs for their business or introducing them to a young growing company looking to add more reps.
Young professionals can help me by… introducing me to the decision maker for their company’s utility contracts.
When I’m not working I am… playing sports or working out.
If I won the lottery, I would… invest in a business, and cultivate more money.
If I could have a superpower, I would choose… Flying. Current travel is far too inefficient, in my opinion.
