For the second year, Columbus Young Professionals Week will be sweeping the city with seven days packed with community events & activities for emerging leaders and Columbus residents. In addition to educational workshops, career development, entertainment, and social events, the week’s communal calendar will include a plethora of volunteer opportunities with organizations like Columbus Gives Back, the Columbus Early Learning Centers, YMCA, and many more. Sort book drive donations over brews with United Way LINC
Tuesday, April 24 @ 5:30pm – 7:30pm
United Way of Central Ohio
Every year the United Way’s young professional branch LINC hosts a massive children’s book drive, which this year brought in over 3,600 donations. Join the group this Tuesday evening at their headquarters as they get ready to sort these books, which will be distributed to local kids in need through United Way funded youth programs in the community. Free pizza, beer, and wine will be provided for all who join.

Volunteer at The Kitchen’s “Loved” Gathering for Young Moms

The Kitchen is known for taking local foodies beyond the typical restaurant meal, with events that immerse guests in communal cooking & dining experiences. This Tuesday evening, the eatery will host The Table Gathering: Loved, a social dinner event to honor and treat young mothers. While buying a ticket to join the dinner sponsors a seat for a mom, The Kitchen also invites local volunteers to assist with tasks like set-up/tear-down, childcare, and guest hospitality at the event.

Race or volunteer at the Ohio Health Capital City Half Marathon

OhioHealth will be hosting their annual Capital City Half Marathon through the streets of Downtown on Saturday morning, with three races, a finish line party, and post-race concert on the schedule for the day. Participants’ entry fees will benefit the OhioHealth Foundation and the OhioHealth Facility Therapy Dog program. Register today to join one of the races or sign up to volunteer the day of the event.

Fill up on food & fine wines with Easterseals Central and Southeast Ohio as they host their largest annual fundraiser Romancing the Grape this weekend at The OSU Shoe. The event is touted as ‘Central Ohio’s Premier Wine Tasting Event’, with offerings including over 100 varieties of wine from around the world, craft beer, hors d’oeuvres & cheeses from local restaurants, a silent auction, and live entertainment. Proceeds will benefit Easterseals’ efforts to provide services & care to people in the community with special needs & disabilities.

March for Babies with March of Dimes

Hundreds will take to the streets this Sunday for the March of Dimes March for Babies, taking place on the scenic Scioto Riverfront Downtown. Participants can join in this 3-mile charity walk as an individual or in teams, raising pledges that will fund March of Dimes’ efforts to research premature birth and promote the health & welfare of newborn babies.
