Chris Rutter, 36, always knew he had a passion for helping others find their paths in life through human resources management. So, when the opportunity to work as the Director of Human Resources for Mount Carmel Health Systems came along, it was a no brainer.

“I’m so passionate about HR. It’s such a large world,” said Rutter, a Groveport native, who graduated from Groveport High School in 2000. “I oversee the entire Human Resources function at Mount Carmel St. Ann’s—roughly 2,200 colleagues.”

Rutter also volunteers as the president of the Human Resources Association of Central Ohio (HRACO), the human resource organization in Central Ohio he’s been a member of since 2006.  Additionally, he’s an advisory board member for the Ohio Diversity Council.

Rutter earned two Bachelor of Arts degrees from Franklin University in business administration and H.R. Management. He also earned his Executive MBA from Ashland University, with a specialization in H.R. management.

When he’s not working, Rutter is a huge fan of his Westerville neighborhood.

“The neighbors are so incredibly nice,” he said.

And when he wants to take his family dinner, they’ll often head to Valters at the Maennerchor.

“Valter comes out and greets every customer and thanks them for coming in,” said Rutter. “The food is just delicious.”
