This month, Audrey Marie Craddick is making her MadLab debut as Fern in Happy Pills by Alyssa Cokinis. Stephen Woosley, Publicity Coordinator at MadLab, recently hit up Audrey for a Q&A.

Stephen: What got you into acting? How long have you been doing it?
Audrey: I have always been dramatic, being the youngest in my family. I strictly only go by “drama queen” at home so my mom got me onto the stage very early. I did my first show when I was nine or 10 years old and I have been doing it ever since.

Stephen: What brought you to MadLab?
Audrey: I just recently moved back to Columbus from college so I hadn’t heard of MadLab until I attended unified auditions. They gave me a callback and after reading the script, I knew that I was interested in this show, and the rest is history.

Stephen: What else are you very good at other than acting?
Audrey: Theater has become my biggest hobby in life, but the majority of the time I am in musicals rather than plays. So I guess other than acting I love singing, as well as dancing. When I was younger I was also a gymnast for 11 years, so that definitely makes a big impact under my special skills.

Stephen: What would you list as your special skills on an audition form?
Audrey: Acrobatics, dialects, silks and lira, can fall asleep anywhere and everywhere.

Stephen: What are your long term artistic goals?
Audrey: My goals for the future are to just continue on this path of performance. Like any other girl with Broadway dreams, there are always bright lights and Times Square in the picture, but overall I really just want to be happy performing anyway I can and let that lead me to where I’m supposed to be.

Stephen: What (or who) inspires you?
Audrey: The women in my family have always inspired me to be great. I grew up with a single mom and a big sister who always encouraged me to follow my dreams to achieve the things I put my mind to. My grandma, who passed a little over a year ago, was my best friend and her words of encouragement always lifted me when I needed a little boost of confidence. Everything I do in theater is because of and for these special ladies in my life.

Stephen: What was your favorite movie of 2018?
Audrey: My favorite movie of 2018 was probably Love, Simon. I’m a rom com kind of gal.
