Brittany Eddy, 30, is interested in more than just finding the perfect match for millennials and new homeowners in Central Ohio—her passion for the environment follows her into her life as a Realtor with HER Realtors.

“I take pride in educating clients on the benefits of an energy efficient home and smart home technology in overall enhancing their homebuying experience,” said the San Diego, California, transplant, who has called the capital city her home for 25 years. “We’re the next generation and where our environment goes will depend on us.”

Eddy, an area commissioner for the Far East Area Commission, said there’s a common misconception about smart home technology being only for the rich.

“People think of smart home technology as a perk. Like a luxury,” said the YMCA of Central Ohio Yoga instructor. “But, it’s not. It’s not only the wave of the future but something that is absolutely necessary. It’s energy efficiency.”

Eddy said educating young people and being a Realtor who represents the next homebuying generation is what she enjoys.

“It is imperative that millennials have the right representation in a market that is growing rapidly to keep up with the demands,” said the new mom, who loves to travel with her husband.

Eddy graduated from South High School and then spent two years at Columbus State before transferring and earning a Bachelor of Arts in communications studies degree from Ohio Dominican. She said the Short North restaurants are some of the best in Columbus and she takes guests there among some other Columbus favorites.

“They need to go Easton, of course, to do some shopping,” she said. “Short North for restaurants, Olde Towne East and Columbus State as an arts district…Columbus Museum of Art. I love talking to people about where to go.”
