What gets you up in the morning? And what gets you through the workweek?
What gets me up in the morning is the drive to make meaningful connections and create a lasting impact, both through data and through people. I’m energized by the opportunity to blend my passion for quantitative finance and sustainability with my commitment to service, leadership, and continuous learning. Whether I’m analyzing climate risk data, mentoring peers, or leading community initiatives, I wake up with a sense of purpose: to grow, to uplift others, and to contribute to a more thoughtful and equitable world. My mornings begin with intention, rooted in faith, fueled by curiosity, and guided by a mission to live fully and lead with heart.

What advice or mentors have helped guide you along the way?
My path has been deeply influenced by a community of mentors, family, and friends who have poured into me with wisdom, encouragement, and love. Mentors like Emily Smith, Erika Latham, Lola White, Janice Tedesco, and Scotty & Daphne McKinney have not only offered professional guidance but also shared a powerful piece of advice that I carry with me daily: “Don’t postpone joy.” They’ve shown me—through their actions and presence—what it means to lead with joy, resilience, and authenticity.
Equally foundational has been the unwavering support of my mother and sisters, who have instilled in me the values of faith, perseverance, and compassion. Their strength and belief in me have been a constant source of motivation. My close friends have also played a vital role, offering perspective, laughter, and grounding during both triumphs and challenges.
Together, this circle of influence has helped me to stay true to my mission: to live with purpose, lead with heart, and uplift others through connection, service, and joy.

What do you do or where do you go to unwind?
To unwind, I embrace creativity, connection, and calm. As an artist in my free time, I find joy and peace in painting and drawing—creative outlets that allow me to express myself and recharge. I also love taking weekend trips with family and friends, finding inspiration and laughter in new places and shared experiences. Sometimes, unwinding simply means resting—giving myself space to reflect and reset. One of the ways I blend my love for art and community is by attending local events, and I’m especially excited to be at the Color of Summer at the Columbus Museum of Art on June 28th—a celebration of creativity, culture, and connection that perfectly reflects what fills my cup.

What are a few of your favorite local spots in Columbus?
I love exploring Columbus with my mini Aussie, Eli. Some of my favorite spots include Junto for creative inspiration, Ena’s Caribbean Kitchen and Dabakh Restaurant for flavorful meals, and Forno for a fun night out. For fresh air and playtime, Eli and I enjoy unwinding at Scioto Dog Park.

When you were a kid, what did you say you wanted to be when you grew up?
When I was a kid, I proudly declared I wanted to be the CEO—or as I’d liked to say, the “Head Honcho.” That ambition showed up early, from my 5th grade role as City Treasurer at JA BizTown to becoming the Treasurer of her Senior Class. Even then, I had a passion for helping people understand their money and feel confident about it. Numbers weren’t just numbers—they were tools for empowerment. That early spark turned into a lifelong mission to make finance approachable, meaningful, and impactful for others. And while the title might have evolved, the vision hasn’t changed: lead with purpose, and make sure people feel seen, supported, and financially savvy.

What books or podcasts are you reading/listening to right now?
I always start with the Bible—it’s my foundation and daily guide. Beyond that, I dive into what I lovingly call “the fun stuff”: books on Quantitative Finance and Risk Management that challenge my thinking and fuel my passion for data-driven decision-making. I also enjoy tuning into Mel Robbins from time to time, especially her “Let Them” episode, which offers a refreshing reminder to release control and focus on what truly matters. Whether it’s spiritual grounding, technical mastery, or personal growth, my reading and listening list reflects my commitment to learning with both heart and curiosity.

What does it mean to you to be chosen for the Next Up Columbus award?
Being chosen for the Next Up Columbus Award is deeply humbling and incredibly emotional. It’s more than recognition—it’s a reflection of the love, support, and investment that my family, friends, mentors, and colleagues have poured into me over the years. When I found out, I cried a little—not out of sadness, but from the overwhelming realization that others see the work, the heart, and the purpose behind my journey. It’s a moment of gratitude, excitement, and reflection—a reminder that I’m not walking this path alone, and that the impact I strive to make is being felt. This award is not just for me; it’s for everyone who believed in me and helped me believe in myself.

If someone were to ask you what the “pulse” of Columbus is, what would you tell them?
If someone asked me what the pulse of Columbus is, I’d say without hesitation—it’s the people. They are the heart and the brain of this city, vital to everything that makes Columbus not just a place to live, but a place to thrive. It’s the energy of creatives, the drive of entrepreneurs, the warmth of community leaders, and the everyday kindness of neighbors that give this city its rhythm. Columbus beats with innovation, compassion, and resilience—and it’s the people who keep that pulse strong and steady.
