Jeffrey Price Jr. is a purpose-driven leader, entrepreneur, veteran, and family man whose journey spans the classroom, battlefield, freight docks, and boardrooms. Inspired by his grandfather, a Vietnam veteran, Jeffrey joined the Army after witnessing the events of 9/11 as a high school freshman. He quickly rose through the ranks of military logistics, scoring a perfect 100% on every Army transportation school exam and later bringing that same precision to the private sector at companies like Honda.
In the midst of the 2020 pandemic, Jeffrey turned disruption into opportunity by launching PLAN Logistics Solutions, a freight brokerage built on faith, strategy, and service. Since then, his entrepreneurial vision has expanded to include Kingdom Coaching Services – empowering leaders to rise with clarity and conviction – and Kaliro Apps, a tech startup helping e-commerce businesses launch mobile apps.
A published author of two books and a proud finalist for the 2025 Columbus Chamber’s Small Business Leader of the Year award, Jeffrey’s greatest titles are husband and father of four. Whether on the frontlines or in the boardroom, his mission is clear: to lead with resilience, build legacy through leadership, and help others pioneer with purpose.
What gets you up in the morning? And what gets you through the workweek?
Purpose gets me up in the morning. Knowing that my leadership, my work, and my presence have the power to shift not just my family’s future, but the future of others I’m called to serve. I wake up with the conviction that legacy is built daily, and I refuse to waste the gift of another day.
Vision gets me through the workweek. I remind myself often: hard days are part of holy assignments. Between team meetings, client calls, and strategic decisions, I keep my eyes on the bigger picture—kingdom impact, generational change, and finishing what I started with integrity.
And of course… a strong cup of tea doesn’t hurt!!!
What advice or mentors have helped guide you along the way?
I’ve been blessed with mentors who didn’t just teach me how to lead; they showed me how to live with integrity. One piece of advice that’s never left me is: “Lead with your life, not just your words.”
From my parents, I learned the value of service and sacrifice. From Army leaders, I learned the importance of discipline, teamwork, and staying calm under pressure. And from business mentors, I’ve learned that character outlasts talent.
Each of them helped shape the way I lead—anchored in purpose, fueled by faith, and always focused on people.
What do you do or where do you go to unwind?
For me, unwinding usually looks like intentional time with my family or a quiet moment alone with God. Whether it’s catching dinner with my wife and kids, working out at the gym, or spending time in prayer and reflection, I recharge by stepping away from the noise and refocusing on what matters most.
Sometimes, the best clarity comes when I’m not chasing productivity, but simply resting in purpose.
What are a few of your favorite local spots in Columbus?
I’ve got a few go-to places that hit different depending on the vibe I’m after. The Fruits and Roots is a favorite for good coffee/tea and even better conversation. Blacklick Woods Metro Park is where I go to slow down and breathe a bit. And when it’s time to celebrate or have a solid meal, Mitchell’s Steakhouse or Jeff Ruby’s never miss.
When you were a kid, what did you say you wanted to be when you grew up?
As a kid, I used to say I wanted to be a surgeon or a teacher—someone with a voice that mattered. Looking back, I think I always knew I was called to lead, teach, speak, and influence. I just didn’t know yet that leadership would be the lane God would use to bring it all together.
What books or podcasts are you reading/listening to right now?
Right now, I’m reading Maximizing Your Potential by Dr. Myles Munroe and revisiting Spirit Of Leadership: Cultivating the attributes that influence human action by Dr. Myles Munroe. I’m also listening to The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry by John Mark Comer. I like to keep a mix of leadership, personal development, and spiritual growth in rotation—it keeps me sharp, grounded, and growing in every season.
What does it mean to you to be chosen for the Next Up Columbus award?
Being chosen for the Next Up Columbus award is both humbling and affirming. It means the work I’ve been doing—building businesses, developing leaders, and pouring back into my community is making an impact. As a veteran, father of four, and entrepreneur, I carry the responsibility of legacy deeply. This recognition isn’t just about where I’ve been; it’s a reminder to keep pioneering forward with purpose, faith, and excellence for the next generation watching.
If someone were to ask you what the “pulse” of Columbus is, what would you tell them?
If someone asked me the “pulse” of Columbus, I’d say it’s the bold heartbeat of innovation and community. It’s a city where dreamers and doers collide—where startups thrive, creatives lead, and leaders are made not just by title, but by service. Columbus moves with purpose and possibility, and the people here are the rhythm behind it all.
