Alex Frommeyer, 30, cares about your smile and your art. The huge arts advocate, who enjoys his own personal collection of local creations, has made a business of next generation dental insurance as the co-founder and CEO of Beam Dental.
“We’re a dental insurance provider for small business,” said the University of Louisville graduate, who came to the Near East Side of Columbus from northern Kentucky. “My first company was in medical devices, and my partners and I developed a passion for the intersection of healthcare and technology early on…with some family members in the industry, dental just seemed natural!”
Frommeyer’s role at Beam is to build the team and set the strategy for the business, which recently secured $22.5 million in financing.
“So matching up our budgets to the skill sets we need, based on our roadmap, is really the core of what I spend my time on at work,” he said.
In his free time, Frommeyer is on the Create Columbus Commission.
“It’s a phenomenal organization of 33 young professionals in Columbus working to improve the pulse of the city, as well as contribute to solving the biggest problems we face,” he said.
When he’s not purchasing art or making the community better, Frommeyer enjoys dinner at Wolf’s Ridge Brewery or hanging out at Franklin Park. He said the new Kobra mural at Gravity in Franklinton is a must-see for anyone in, or outside of, Columbus.
Alex was named to our annual list of 52 Young Professionals You Should Know in Columbus – one for every week in the year!
